This is the house where Betty lived in the Colombian telenovela, “Betty La Fea”. The Americans made a horrible attempt at copying this show; nothing beats the original!
The storyline follows Betty, a girl who has been bullied for most of her life, as she enters into the job market. She gets hired at a fashion company called Eco Moda and immediately becomes enamored with Armando Mendoza (her boss).
The show focuses on Betty adjusting to her new workplace and interacting with people within the fashion world; something she knows nothing about at the time of being hired. The early episodes have some pretty funny moments and the show maintains a good pace throughout. It loses a bit of traction towards episode 80 or so, but the episodes closer to the end regain the quality of the earlier ones in some ways.
When I saw that this house was close to the downtown area of Bogota, I decided to take a short side trip to photograph it in person. You may find this house west of the downtown area of Bogota. The owners have obviously taken precautions to maintain some level of privacy, but anyone who owns a famous home like that should be prepared to deal with people at least coming by to photograph the place. Anyway, there you have it, the house of Betty La Fea!
