Today I want to talk about a wonderful dish that comes from Peru; Lomo Saltado. This dish is traditionally made with beef, however, they also make a chicken version. I prefer to eat the chicken version. If you order “Pollo Saltado” at a restaurant, you will receive the chicken version.
What is Lomo Saltado?
Lomo saltado is a traditional Peruvian dish. It is a simple stir fry dish with strips of beef, onions, tomatoes, and other ingredients. Soy sauce and other ingredients make up the sauce. It typically comes with french fries and rice on the side. I highly recommend you mix everything together because that is how you make it even more awesome than it already is.
Where Can I Buy Lomo Saltado or Pollo Saltado?
My favorite restaurant to eat this dish is located in Mira Flores. La Baguette is where I like to order Pollo Saltado. It’s a pretty awesome place and the food is reasonably priced. I have never had a bad order from them. One time they made a mistake on the drink I ordered and they gave me two instead of one in order to compensate. I didn’t ask for that, but that is just how service-oriented they are.
Conclusion
Peru offers a great variety of food to try. There are many other dishes and ingredients for me to discuss, but I had to talk about this one today. Now go eat something good!
