I want to talk about a product I have used several times during my travels. The Lifestraw Personal Water Filter is a great item to take with you no matter where you go.
My Recent Use Of The Lifestraw
A few months ago while I was trekking through the mountains near Bogota, Colombia with some friends, I had run out of water. While I had brought a large bottle of water with me, I ended up drinking more than I expected. It was not such a big deal though, because I had the Lifestraw.
We eventually came across a stream running through the area we were walking in. I decided to use the Lifestraw since I was thirsty. I opened the packaging, took the straw out, and I was able to drink clean tasty water from a stream in the wild.
This was not my first time using the Lifestraw out in the wild and it will certainly not be my last. I recommend it to my many friends who like to go hiking as well. Many of them did not know about this nifty device prior to me telling them about it.
What Does The Lifestraw Do?
The Lifestraw will filter out dirt, bacteria, and parasites. It WILL NOT filter out toxic or chemically-polluted water. It is safe to use in natural streams when you are hiking in the wilderness. The video below will demonstrate that much.

How Long Does The Lifestraw Last?
I have also found the Lifestraw to be very durable and to last for a few months of use when taken care of properly. Like any type of water filter, it is best to replace it periodically, but you can certainly get more than your money’s worth by having a few around when you travel. I usually pack three Lifestraws in my luggage when I travel. Normally, I end up just using one over two or three months and it holds up just fine.

Conclusion
Try it for yourself, I cannot recommend the Lifestraw enough. I have always been a fan of reverse osmosis and distilled water, and having something like this to filter out the bad stuff has been great for me. I love it!
It will be useful for hiking and camping.
It most certainly will be. Thank you for your comment, Ryu!
